Welcome back to my blog! This entry will be the start of my series called The Nudibranch Diaries. I'm in the process of making a game about nudibranchs, also known as sea slugs. It'll be part "fishing", part business management, part aquarium building, and part pet simulation! Hopefully I'll be able to code all of this in Construct, but as I've been learning the program, I've been making sprites for the game. For the past two or three weeks, I've been steadily building my nudibranch sprite collection. So far, I've made 21 sprites! It definitely doesn't feel like I've made that much, the process has really flown by! I've been calling them by their scientific names while making them, but in game players will be able to nickname them whatever they want. I'm debating on if I want to give them colloquial names so that it's easier for players to remember which nudibranch is which, since some nudibranchs share the same genus name. I can imagine it getting confusing for the player, but at the same time, I can't just make up a name for a nudibranch, can I? Hopefully once I start making the game the answer becomes clearer.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the sprites I've made! If you have any thoughts on the sprites, the naming system, or anything else that I've mentioned in this post, let me know! Thank you for reading and have a great day!
